The video, viewed over 2 million times on TikTok, shows an officer with his gun unholstered but not pointed at the boy. The boy's father expressed his dissatisfaction with the police department's explanation, stating that his son lives in the area and it couldn't be a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Lansing Police Department issued a statement apologizing for the misunderstanding and the mayor also offered his sincere apology. The NAACP is monitoring the situation.
