"National Vigils and LGBTQ+ Solidarity After Death of Nonbinary Teen in Oklahoma"

Vigils were held across the nation for Nex Benedict, a nonbinary Oklahoma teenager who died following a school bathroom fight. Benedict, who used they/them pronouns, was involved in an altercation with three girls at Owasso High School, and their death has sparked discussions about bullying and support for the LGBTQ+ community. The preliminary autopsy results indicate that Benedict's death was not a result of injuries suffered in the fight, and the police department is awaiting toxicology and other autopsy results before commenting further.
