Stamp Out Hunger: Postal Service Collects Food for Community in Need

The National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive, the largest food drive in the United States, is set to take place on May 13. Donating food is as easy as leaving nonperishable food items next to your mailbox. The food drive began in 1991 and has since collected over 1 billion pounds of food. Late spring is when food banks need supplies the most, as they are beginning to run out of Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday donations. Letter carriers see the needs in their communities on a daily basis and believe it’s important to help.
