Security Investigation Prompts Temporary Evacuation at Fort Lauderdale Airport

A check-in area at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport's Terminal 1 was temporarily evacuated due to a security-related law enforcement investigation. The terminal section and roadway leading to the upper-level were closed for about an hour before reopening. The reason for the evacuation was not immediately disclosed. Passengers were advised to check with their airlines for flight updates and use the lower level for drop-offs.
