Secret Service Under Fire for Security Lapses at Trump Rally

Secret Service Director Kimberly A. Cheatle confirmed that local police were inside a building used by a gunman to fire on former President Trump in Butler, PA. The building was part of the outer perimeter managed by local law enforcement, while the Secret Service controlled the inner perimeter. The decision to leave the warehouse in the outer perimeter has been questioned, as it provided an ideal vantage point for a sniper. Cheatle took responsibility for the incident, stating that the Secret Service was aware of a suspicious individual before Trump went onstage.
