Bishop Robert Barron has called for a boycott of the Los Angeles Dodgers due to their relationship with an anti-Catholic drag queen troupe, the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The Dodgers had planned to honor the group during a "Pride Night" event, but after receiving backlash, they rescinded the invitation, only to re-invite the group after LA Pride withdrew from the event. Barron referred to the group as an "anti-Catholic hate group" and encouraged Catholics to take action to show their disapproval. Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of the Archdiocese of San Francisco also criticized the Dodgers' administration for "worshiping" alternative "gods."
