Oklahoma's governor is seeking the resignation of four county officials, including the sheriff, after an audio recording released by a newspaper appears to capture them discussing killing two journalists and making racist comments about Black people. The recording's authenticity couldn't immediately be verified, but the FBI and the Oklahoma Attorney General's Office are investigating the incident. Many people gathered outside the McCurtain County Courthouse calling for the officials to resign. The McCurtain County Sheriff's Office posted a statement on Facebook calling the last 72 hours "among the most difficult and disruptive in recent memory."
