"Minnesota Ushers in 2024 with Progressive Laws on Worker Benefits, Renting, and Privacy"

Minnesota has enacted several new laws as of January 1, 2024, including gun safety measures with red flag warnings, comprehensive landlord-tenant reforms, and a statewide paid sick leave policy. A fourth measure, aimed at restricting corporate campaign financing, was temporarily blocked by a federal court. Other laws now in effect cover free menstrual products in schools, increased campaign donor refunds, worker safety programs in meat-processing and oil refineries, prohibition of pay history requests by employers, and new specialty license plates.
