Rogue Peacock Causes Chaos in the Bronx

A peacock from the Bronx Zoo escaped and bit a man on a sidewalk in New York City before flying into a nearby tree. The bird is believed to be one of the hundreds of free-roaming peacocks at the zoo and returned on its own the next morning. A good Samaritan who tried to help the bird was bitten and treated at the scene. Zoo officials were confident in their staff's ability to handle the situation and said they have knowledge of bird behavior to predict how the peacock would behave.
