Florida Man's Failed Attempt to Cross Atlantic in Hamster Wheel Vessel Ends in Arrest

A Florida man, Reza Baluchi, has been arrested by the US Coast Guard after attempting to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a human-sized hamster wheel contraption in order to reach London. Baluchi was charged with obstruction of a boarding and violation of a captain of the port order. Coast Guard officers stopped him approximately 70 nautical miles east of Tybee Island, Georgia, and deemed his hamster wheel unsafe for the voyage. Baluchi resisted getting into their boat, displaying knives and threatening to use a bomb, but was eventually safely brought ashore. This is not the first time Baluchi has attempted such a journey, having been rescued in 2014 and 2016.
