Last surviving Nuremberg prosecutor, Benjamin Ferencz, dies at 103.

Benjamin Ferencz, the last surviving prosecutor from the Nuremberg trials, has died at the age of 103. Ferencz fought in World War II and helped liberate several concentration camps before turning to the courtroom. He was the Chief Prosecutor for Nuremberg’s Einsatzgruppen trial, trying 22 Nazis for crimes against humanity. Ferencz was the first prosecutor to use the term “genocide” in a court of law and advocated for the establishment of an International Criminal Court. He was awarded the US Congressional Gold Medal in January.
