Influential Atlanta Pastor and Televangelist Charles Stanley Passes Away at 90

Charles Stanley, a prominent televangelist and former leader of the Southern Baptist Convention, has died at the age of 90. Stanley was the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Atlanta for 50 years and hosted the Christian teaching program "In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley," which aired on the Christian Broadcasting Network. He also founded the nonprofit In Touch Ministries, which sent his broadcasts across the nation and world through radio and television. Stanley wrote more than 40 books and was a devoted photographer of nature and the outdoors.
