Jason Parker, a snowboarder, survived being buried in an avalanche at Palisades Tahoe, California, after being swept off his feet and entombed under 4 feet of snow. He punched an air hole to breathe and yelled for help, feeling helpless and accepting his fate before rescuers found and dug him out. Despite a slightly injured knee, he plans to return to the trail and expressed gratitude for his rescue while mourning the death of another man in the avalanche.
