Severe Storms Ravage Birmingham Area, Leaving Destruction in Their Wake

Two tornadoes with preliminary EF-1 ratings swept through the Birmingham metro area in Alabama, causing damage in Homewood, Mountain Brook, and Cahaba Heights. The first tornado track stretched from near the Wildwood shopping center to Samford University, while the second track went from near Brookwood Mall to Mountain Brook and Cahaba Heights. No injuries have been reported so far, and storm surveys are planned for other affected areas.
