Perris Residents Forced to Evacuate as Brush Fire Engulfs Homes and Cars

A brush fire in Perris, Riverside County, spread to structures including homes and cars, leading to evacuations. The fire burned about 55 acres and was 5% contained. Plumes of thick black smoke were visible, and firefighters reported a fast rate of spread and immediate structure threat. Two homes were destroyed, and several cars burned. Evacuations were ordered in the affected area, and a care and reception center for evacuees has been established. The cause of the fire is unknown.
