"Floods Ravage Vermont: Winooski River Crests, Roads Closed, and Schools Shut Down"

Flooding caused by heavy rain hit Central Vermont, causing damage and road closures. Governor Phil Scott described the flooding as a setback for communities still recovering from July's floods. Swift water rescue teams responded to multiple incidents, and shelters were opened for displaced residents. The Winooski River reached its third-highest flood level, while the Lamoille River set a record for the fourth-highest level. Numerous roads were closed due to high water, and over 150 schools in Central Vermont were closed or delayed.
