"Diamond Fire Threatens Scottsdale, Including Animal Sanctuary"

Evacuations were ordered in north Scottsdale as a fast-moving brush fire, known as the Diamond Fire, threatened neighborhoods near McDowell Mountain Regional Park. More than 1,000 people were under evacuation orders, and the fire had burned 3.9 square miles of land without containment. No homes had burned and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
