US Continues to Provide Military Aid to Ukraine Despite Equipment Issues.

The US Army's 401st Army Field Support Battalion and contractor Amentum Services have been faulted by the Defense Department's inspector general for failing to maintain equipment, including M777 howitzers and M1167 Humvees, that were set to be sent to Ukraine. The faulty equipment could have endangered the lives of Ukrainian or US troops if fielded. The report also exposes problems with a program designed to help soldiers deploy quickly across the world. The contractor responsible for maintaining the supplies is Amentum Services, which has held the contract since 2016 and will continue until January 2024, charging $947.6 million for its services so far.
