Overnight Northstar search ends in tragedy for 21-year-old skier

A 21-year-old skier who failed to return from a day on the slopes was found dead Thursday morning at Northstar California after an overnight search conducted by the Placer County Sheriff's Office and Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue. His vehicle was found in the Northstar parking lot, and the recovery involved about 15 skiers, a snowcat, two snowmobiles, and Northstar Ski Patrol, with the body recovered around 9 a.m. Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the death.
