Lewis County shootout ends with suspect dead, trooper uninjured

State police identified suspect Victor Craighead and Trooper Timothy Dovi after last Friday’s gunfight in Diana, Lewis County. Craighead, who emerged from his home with a long gun and fired on officers, was shot by Dovi and pronounced dead at the scene; Dovi was not harmed and is on critical incident leave. Investigators found two burned vehicles with bodies nearby, and autopsies were scheduled for Monday; body-worn camera footage exists but has not been released as the investigation continues.
