Pro-Palestinian Protesters Disrupt Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting

Seven people were taken into custody after fights broke out during a pro-Palestinian demonstration near Rockefeller Center in New York City, just blocks away from the annual Christmas tree lighting. Despite increased security measures, demonstrators were able to break through barricades and physically clash with police. The NYPD had anticipated the chaotic scene and made several arrests, including one minor. The demonstration, attended by over 1,000 people, called for an end to the bombing of Gaza and the blockade on Palestinians. The clashes did not disrupt the nearby tree lighting celebration.
