"Pitt Campus Faces Multiple Public Safety Emergencies"

Pitt campus police issued an Emergency Notification Service alert for a "public safety emergency at O'Hara Street" due to an incendiary device set off outside the O'Hara Student Center where a debate featuring conservative political commentator Michael Knowles was taking place. The University of Pittsburgh said there were no injuries and no ongoing threat. Several buildings were closed, and Carnegie Mellon University issued an alert about a "building collapse" in error.
