Utah hospitals celebrated the arrival of some of the first babies of 2024, with Intermountain Health delivering a boy at 12:18 a.m. to Yasmin Valdez and Victor of Salt Lake City, and MountainStar Healthcare's St. Mark’s Hospital welcoming a girl named Mira at the same time to parents Arti and Fiaz from South Salt Lake. Both births were special, with the boy being a "miracle baby" due to umbilical cord complications and the mother's spinal issues, and Mira being the first delivery of the year across the MountainStar network.
