Fatal Subway Altercation: Passenger Restrained in Chokehold.

A 30-year-old man died after being restrained by a former Marine who put him in a chokehold for almost three minutes on a subway train in SoHo. The man had been acting erratically, allegedly throwing trash and yelling at passengers. The NYPD is investigating the incident and waiting for the medical examiner to determine the official cause of death. The Marine was taken into custody for questioning but released without any charges. The man who died had more than 40 prior arrests and an active warrant out for his arrest from a felony assault charge.
