Community Mourns Western NY Nurse Killed in Hungary; Suspect Arrested

A candlelight vigil was held in Fredonia, New York, for Mackenzie "Kenzie" Michalski, a 31-year-old nurse practitioner who was found dead in Budapest, Hungary, while on vacation. The community gathered to mourn and support each other, emphasizing the close-knit nature of the town. Michalski, who had worked in Buffalo before moving to Portland, was reported missing after failing to check out of her Airbnb and missing her flight. A 37-year-old Irish man has been arrested in connection with her death.
