Colorado family awarded $19 million in police shooting settlement

The family of Christian Glass, a 22-year-old man shot and killed by law enforcement during a mental health crisis in Colorado, will receive a $19 million settlement, the largest payout after a police killing in state history. Clear Creek County will also dedicate a public park in Glass's name and establish a crisis response team. The Colorado State Patrol will create a virtual reality training scenario based on Glass's murder, focusing on "de-escalation in a high-stress situation." Two former Clear Creek Sheriff's Office employees charged in the case are still going through a separate criminal trial.
