Baltimore Mayor Proposes Youth Curfew in Response to Teen Shootings

Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott announced a citywide curfew for minors starting Memorial Day weekend after a large fight among minors broke out near the Inner Harbor. The curfew for anyone 14 years old and younger will be 9 p.m., and a curfew for anyone younger than 17 will be 10 p.m. The mayor also plans to offer summer camps and programs for children, but those programs have not been announced. The move comes after a rise in violence involving teens, with five children under 18 fatally shot and another 23 injured by gunfire since the start of 2023.
