Amtrak Train Derails in California After Collision with Truck

Crews are working to clear a derailed Amtrak train in Moorpark after it collided with a truck, causing the train to partially derail and passengers to evacuate. The collision occurred when the train crashed into an irrigation truck crossing the tracks. Fourteen passengers were hospitalized with minor injuries, while the truck driver was taken to a trauma center with serious injuries. The investigation is ongoing, but it does not appear that the truck was stopped or stalled on the tracks. Amtrak services north of Los Angeles have been suspended, and alternate travel arrangements are being made for affected passengers.
