Judge Recommends Disbarring Pro-Trump Attorney John Eastman for 2020 Election Efforts

The California State Bar has recommended the disbarment of former Trump election attorney John Eastman for his involvement in efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election. The State Bar Court judge found that Eastman engaged in unethical conduct by promoting a strategy lacking evidentiary or legal support. The judge cited Eastman's unwillingness to acknowledge ethical lapses and lack of remorse as reasons for the recommendation. Eastman is also facing federal and separate criminal election interference charges in Georgia, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
