"Rust" Armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed Found Guilty of Involuntary Manslaughter

Movie armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust," with the jury finding her guilty of bringing live ammunition onto the set and failing to ensure gun safety. The verdict assigned new blame in the October 2021 incident, and Gutierrez-Reed also faced a charge of tampering with evidence, of which she was found not guilty. The conviction carries a penalty of up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine, and Gutierrez-Reed plans to appeal. Actor Alec Baldwin, who was involved in the shooting, is scheduled for trial in July and has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter.
