Alec Baldwin prevails as slain Marine's family loses lawsuit

Alec Baldwin did not have to pay anything to settle a $25 million lawsuit filed by the family of Marine Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum, who was killed in Afghanistan. The lawsuit alleged that Baldwin exposed the family to social media hatred by falsely claiming that McCollum was an "insurrectionist" for attending a rally preceding the January 6, 2021, Capitol insurrection. The case was dismissed after the McCollum family failed to file an amended lawsuit. Baldwin's attorney confirmed that no payment was made to resolve the case.
