Mysterious Human Torso Found at Medical Waste Facility Raises Concerns

A major regional health care system, Sanford Health, is being sued by Monarch Waste Technologies after the company allegedly deposited a human torso hidden in a plastic container at Monarch's medical waste facility in North Dakota. Monarch discovered the remains four days later and reported it to the authorities. Monarch also claims that an employee of Sanford Health's subsidiary deliberately staged photos of disorganized waste to falsely accuse Monarch of mismanaging medical waste. Sanford Health argues that the body part was clearly labeled as "human tissue for research" and was a routine biological material used for resident education. The investigation is ongoing.
