The family of Banko Brown, a transgender Black man who was shot and killed by a private security guard outside a Walgreens store in San Francisco last month, has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Walgreens, the security guard, and the guard's employer. The attorney for the family is seeking at least $25 million in damages. The lawsuit comes after California's attorney general announced he would review the decision to not charge the guard.
