"Shelby County DA Dismisses Cases Linked to Officers Charged in Tyre Nichols' Death"

The Shelby County District Attorney's Office has dropped at least 30 criminal cases worked by five former officers who were charged with second-degree murder in the death of Tyre Nichols. The officers are also facing charges of aggravated assault, aggravated kidnapping, official misconduct, and official oppression. The DA's office reviewed nearly 100 cases and reduced charges in about a dozen others. The next court date for the officers is scheduled for August 18.
