"Pittsburgh Police Place 50 Officers on Leave After Deadly Garfield Standoff"

Nearly 50 Pittsburgh police officers are on administrative leave following a fatal standoff in Garfield. The officers are expected to return to work within three to five days, and in the meantime, investigative and administrative officers will fill in for uniformed patrolmen. The majority of the city's SWAT team is on leave, and neighboring law enforcement agencies will handle any calls for that unit. The standoff occurred when deputies went to evict William Hardison Jr. from his home, and shots were exchanged between Hardison and law enforcement. The incident ended with Hardison's death. The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the use of deadly force by responding officers.
