"Colorado and El Paso drivers face increased enforcement on Friday to combat traffic violations"

Law enforcement agencies in Colorado, including El Paso County Sheriff's Office, Colorado Springs Police, Fountain Police, and Monument Police, will be conducting a "surge" effort to crack down on traffic violations on Friday. El Paso County is an area of focus due to having the highest number of traffic deaths in Colorado in 2022. The goal is to make the roads safer, and major roads where drivers can expect to see more law enforcement presence include Powers Blvd, Fountain Blvd, Highway 24, and Woodmen Rd. The extra patrolling is planned to happen once a quarter in 2023.
