Appleton Police Shoot Suspect in Bar Incident

The Wisconsin Department of Justice reported that a suspect shot by an Appleton police officer had fired at the officers first and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. The incident occurred when police responded to a report of shots fired at Maritime Tavern. The officer involved is on administrative leave, and the DOJ's Department of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation, with findings to be reviewed by the Outagamie County district attorney.
