Federal Court Blocks 21-and-Up Gun Law

A federal judge has granted a preliminary injunction blocking a new Colorado gun law that limits sales to individuals aged 21 and older. The law, Senate Bill 23-169, took effect on Monday but is now on hold until the case is heard in court. The gun advocacy group Rocky Mountain Gun Owners argues that the law violates the Second Amendment. The group is already suing Democratic Gov. Jared Polis over the law. The judge ruled that the plaintiffs provided evidence that the law violates their constitutional rights, and blocking the law while the case is heard is in the public interest. The state's opposition argues that the law is consistent with historical gun laws and is unlikely to be successful.
