Majority of CFA and Teamsters Members Vote to Authorize Strike in California State University System

95% of voting members of the California Faculty Association (CFA) have authorized a strike across all 23 California State University (CSU) campuses if necessary, in order to address issues such as low pay, large class sizes, and lack of mental health counseling access for students. The CFA demands include pay raises, pay equity, manageable workloads, more counselors, and expanding parental leave. CSU management claims they cannot afford these proposals, but a CFA fiscal analysis suggests otherwise, highlighting the CSU's hoarding of billions of dollars in reserves. CFA members plan to bring their demands to the CSU Board of Trustees meeting in November.
