Kaepernick funds autopsy for inmate who died in insect-infested jail.

Colin Kaepernick will pay for an independent autopsy for Lashawn Thompson, who died in the Fulton County Jail in questionable conditions last year. The jail's poor conditions resulted in protests and three jail officials resigning. Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff launched a Justice Department probe into the jail and two other county jails over the death of Thompson and other reports. Kaepernick previously announced he would pay for independent autopsies of those killed by police, funding 42 autopsies in its first year.
