Taliban Eliminates Key ISIS Leaders Behind Deadly Kabul Attacks.

The Taliban has reportedly killed the alleged mastermind behind the August 2021 bombing at the Kabul airport that killed 13 US service members and at least 160 Afghans. The deceased leader of ISIS-K, the Islamic State group's Afghanistan affiliate, was not killed in coordination with the US. The Taliban, which opposes ISIS-K, has not publicly taken credit for the killing. US officials say that ISIS-K still aspires to extend the reach of its violent operations but has not grown strong enough to pose a major threat outside of Afghanistan.
