Record Heat Fails to Deter Over 1,300 Daily Migrants Crossing Arizona Border

Despite record-breaking heat and dangerous terrain, over 1,300 migrants are crossing the U.S.-Mexico border into Arizona daily, making it the busiest and most dangerous area to cross. While single adult men try to evade detection, families with young children are turning themselves in to seek asylum. The increase in families crossing is concerning due to the extreme temperatures, with Border Patrol agents and rescue workers reporting groups crossing with over 200 women and children. The rise in families could lead to more migrant deaths, as many are in need of water and have been hiking for hours.
