"Ex-Science Teacher Reunites with Students for Solar Eclipse Viewing"

In 1978, a science teacher promised his junior high class an eclipse party for the 2024 eclipse, and 100 former students gathered at his Rochester, N.Y., home to fulfill that promise. Patrick Moriarty, now 68, had kept his word for over 40 years, creating a Facebook event and hiring a local pizzeria to cater the event. The eclipse itself took a back seat to the reunion, as former students traveled from across the country, bringing yearbooks and reminiscing with their beloved teacher.
