Heroic Marine Veteran Rescues Swimmer from Rip Current at Jersey Shore

A US Marine veteran, Stephen Houser, saved the life of a man caught in a rip current off Sea Bright Beach in New Jersey. Houser transformed his surfboard into a makeshift life raft and rescued the struggling swimmer from the treacherous currents. The incident occurred during turbulent sea conditions caused by the lingering effects of Hurricane Idalia. Houser and the rescued swimmer, Gabe McCabe, have formed a lifelong friendship as a result of the rescue. Tragically, two other individuals lost their lives to the powerful rip currents along the Jersey Shore.
