"Texas Port Rescue: Dog Saved After Week-Long Shipping Container Ordeal"

U.S. Coast Guard officers at the Port of Houston rescued a sweet and friendly dog, later named Connie, from a shipping container where she had been trapped for over eight days with no food or water. The canine, found among junked vehicles likely being shipped overseas, was taken to an animal shelter and is now in the care of a rescue group for treatment and eventual adoption. The officers, who heard her barking during a routine inspection, are grateful to have been in the right place at the right time to save her life.
