Investigation underway into hate crime incident involving Muslim student at Stanford

A Muslim student at Stanford University was hit by a car in a potential hate crime incident. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, which occurred when the driver, described as a white male in his mid-20s, made eye contact with the victim, accelerated to strike them, and yelled derogatory remarks before fleeing the scene. The victim's injuries are not life-threatening. The university's president and provost condemned the violence and expressed concern for the injured student.
