Historic Swift Mansion in Bronzeville suffers extensive damage in fire

Fire crews were called twice to the historic Swift mansion in Bronzeville, Chicago, on Sunday to extinguish fires. The cause of the fires, which occurred on the third floor and later through the roof, is under investigation. No injuries were reported. The mansion, built in 1892 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was previously home to the Inner City Youth and Adult Foundation and had served as a headquarters for the Chicago Urban League and a funeral home.
