"Burning Man 2023: Rainy Weather Forces Burners to Stay in Camps"

More than 73,000 Burning Man attendees are confined to their camps in Black Rock City, Nevada, after heavy rain turned the desert into a muddy mess. Vehicle traffic has been banned, and attendees are urged to stay in their camps and conserve food and water. The closure of roads and gates has halted cleaning and servicing of port-a-potties, and the small airport serving the event has also halted operations. The poor weather has forced the cancellation of multiple large-scale art burns, but the Man effigy burn and the burning of the Temple of the Heart are still scheduled.
