"Gasparilla 2024: Arrests, Ambulance Rides, and Parade Mishaps"

The Tampa Police Department reported a total of 18 arrests during the Gasparilla pirate festival, including two DUI arrests, eight BUI arrests, and eight 'other disturbances' arrests. Law enforcement agencies from around Tampa Bay assisted in patrolling the event by land, air, and sea, resulting in 84 boating warnings and 26 citations issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. Tampa Fire Rescue also assisted a 78-year-old man who fell off a float, causing a 25-minute pause in the parade, with no update on his condition yet.
