"Emotional Testimony and FBI Analysis: Updates on Alec Baldwin's 'Rust' Trial"

Alec Baldwin's involuntary manslaughter trial for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of "Rust" in October 2021 has been scheduled for July, with jury selection set to begin on July 9. Baldwin, who pleaded not guilty, faces the charge after accidentally shooting Hutchins while practicing a cross-draw. Two others involved in the shooting, armorer Hannah Gutierrez and first assistant director David Halls, have also faced charges. Gutierrez's trial began last week, with prosecutors alleging she tampered with evidence by handing off a small bag of cocaine after the shooting. Defense attorney Jason Bowles claimed the production created a chaotic scene, taking away from Gutierrez's job as lead armorer and not providing sufficient training for the crew on firearms.
